Raindrops are falling on my head...

I used to joke with a friend about how to know when you've really 'made it.'

Pull yourself up on your bootstraps, make lemonade from lemons, and the cup is finally half-full when you...

When you get married?
Sure, there is a certain amount of relationship commitment/solidity that I crave.

When you have kids?
Nah, that's not it for me. At least, not right now it isn't.

When you buy a house?
Maybe that has a little to do with it.

But what would really make me feel like I've finally made it? What would make me grin with the satisfaction of life achievement every single day?
A rainfall shower-head.

You might be the first one to say that, ever.

I used to say I knew I had made it because I could pick the groceries off the store shelf without having to look too closely at the price - especially the necessities like bread and milk - because now I could actually afford them. In the last year, that hasn't been as much the case. Back to stressing over the which is running higher - gasoline or milk (right now milk is winning).

- Having a large, swinging, comfortable chair suspended from a tree branch in your front yard.
- Serving multiple dishes at a meal in multiple martini-glass serving bowls.
- Thinking it's OK to give your kid $100 for finally being able to jump and touch the rim of a basketball hoop.

I love the rainfall showerhead one - a true winner.
