PS—My exam went really well (I think—knock on wood so that I don't jinx myself...), and my jury was alright although not quite what I wanted or even expected. All of the faculty gave me A's, but I didn’t feel like I played as well as I could have, as well as I had been. I wasn’t nervous; I was just having an off day. I knew it as soon as I played my first note in the practice room.

Everyone left nice comments and no one said anything bad except my teacher, who just said I didn’t quite have as much ‘presence’ as I normally do…which I knew. The good news is that everyone commented that I had good pitch, and since pitch used to be a total kicking and screaming nemesis of mine, that made me feel good. One problem conquered!

PPSSince I'm sure some are wondering...I managed not to fall despite the high heels. However, they were so freaking uncomfortable that I'm never going to wear them again anyhow. I'd much rather be able to actually walk without wincing. And, I'm not so sure the clumping noise I make when I walk around in high heels is all that attractive anyhow...

Update: It turns out the flight I was originally on was delayed and didn't get in until the same time the flight I was on did. So, I got a free ticket for absolutely nothing! Yeah! (I was right about the movies, but I avoided boredom by doing crossword and Sudoku puzzles for 3 hours and then sleeping for the rest of the flight. So, I actually prevented Alzheimers in the process of earning my free flight...can't ask for much more than that, eh?)

Oh, and in this country? There is still a lot of empty space. Even though it certainly doesn't feel like it when you're trapped on the New Jersey Turnpike, here's some solid evidence. Title pics:

Glad the jury went well! Also congrats on a free ticket to Wildflower just make sure you fight a flight soon and make sure there are no stipulations!

Missed you last night on the hills :( No one to be defiant with me.

Tee hee... glad to hear you're getting the jump on Alzheimers. (Aren't you like 20-something??) And this is amazing - the farm on the right on your bottom picture could be my parents' farm. Same layout of house and outbuildings, but the neighbors are too close. Oh, and no one even flies over their remote little spot.

My dad pulled a very similar move on a flight, once. His flights were all company paid, so he was truly getting freebies when taking a bump for tickets.

He was flying home and the airline announced they were overbooked by three people. They offered $250 in tickets, then $500 with no takers. Finally, at $750, my dad had to accept. He completed the paperwork and was ready to wait for the next flight.

Only, when they announced boarding, a family of four realized they were booked into the wrong flight. So, all three people who had just received $750 in flight coupons got on their original flight, anyway.
