Is Blogger being impossible for anyone else today??

Stupid blogger is SO freaking slow right now; it took a half hour for me to get the 'create a post' page up...my will to post (along with my will to live) has been lost.

I'll write much more later (probably more than you care to hear), but for now just know that I had an AMAZING time, and the race was a blast.

Here are my results...

Total Time: 7:22:45
Overall Rank: 1439
Swim: 43:37
T1: 3:33
Bike: 4:07:58
T2: 3:10
Run: 2:24:27
Class Rank: 59
Sex Rank: 297
Swim Rank: 1422
Swim mpk: 24:13
Bike Rank: 1650
Bike mph: 13.3
Run Rank: 1202
Run mph: 11:07

The bike wasn't actually that bad...there were hills, but nothing unconquerable, and I never tried to push myself. I kept my heart rate completely low the whole time to make sure I had enough left for the run. And this run...my god...it was completely ridiculous. (Kahuna, you were right!) The hills were impossible to even fathom running up, so I walked. When I was running, I felt totally fine. My legs didn't feel tight or tired...it's just that there was so much up and down that you could never really find a decent rhythm. At one point, they make you go down into a mile long pit, only to turn around and come back up again...so the whole time you're running down, you see people miserably walking back up. Argh! That was one of the only hills I even partially ran up, and it was only because I was too pissed about it to walk...does that make sense? It seemed to at the time, somehow.

The race site was absolutely beautiful; my pictures don't even begin to do it justice. I took a million pictures of the next day with a friends kick-ass camera (a Nikon D50--I want one!), so hopefully there will be some picture sharing going on soon. Obviously, I couldn't take pictures of myself on the course...

I can't wait to go back next year and do both races!

More later, I promise. (It's time for lunch!)

Congrat on the race. The pics u took are lovely. I love the one with the bike racks and showing the valleys and hills in the background.

Curly, even the pics are exciting. I can't imagine what it was like to be there. I'm totally jealous of the great experience you had, and hope that my first half-iron goes half as well.

Keep on tri-ing.

Awesome job!!! You must have been pretty close to your training goals to hit withing 20 minutes over 70.3 miles. As hilly as it sounds, your pace was probably dead on.

Congratulations!

GREAT JOB!!! What a fantastic race! Awesome. Thanks for sharing the pics. The transition area looks scary. I have never done a big race like that! I would be scared I would get lost trying to find my bike! I am usually pretty disoriented getting out of the water! But, again, nice job!
